Stephen Ashley Colvert, 61, of Benton, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 22.Â He was born Sept. 13, 1950, in Little Rock to the late Floyd and Betty Colvert.Â Steve was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Benton, and was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.Â He loved woodworking and spending time with his family, especially his two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, his sister, Tracey Noll, preceded him in death.
KITSAP COUNTY, Wash. â€“ The Bryant 13-year old All Stars are World Series champions. Bryant defeated Greenville, N.C., 4-3 on Wednesday night to win the Babe Ruth World Series in Kitsap County, Wash., and finish the season undefeated. Bryant went 19-0 in this year's playoffs.

Benton Utilities' Electric Department has issued a formal news release about a new energy transmission line for Entergy Arkansas being located in the city.
The announcement, issued by Jeff Barnett, manager of the department, is being made primarily for informational purposes to alert Benton Utilities customers to anticipated construction related to the installation of the high-voltage line.
