Roy Lee Wright, 78, of Benton, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014.Â He was born March 14, 1936 in Benton.Â Roy served in the National Guard and was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church.Â He was self-employed with diverse business interest.Â
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Sadie Wright.
Dean Estes Massey, 49 of Benton, passed away April 13, 2014.Â He was born March 7, 1965 in Little Rock to Bill Massey and Betty Chalk Massey.Â
In life, Dean faced many hardships and trials, yet he always faced them with courage and perseverance.Â He will always be remembered for his unrelenting positive spirit, generosity and caring friendship.Â Dean had an amazing capacity for love.Â He was an inspiration to anyone who ever met him.Â Dean was an exceptional man and will be greatly missed.
Bette Lou Fawcett, 79 of Benton passed away on April 14, 2014. She was born on December 25, 1934 in Hot Springs. Bette enjoyed reading, collecting carousels and spending time with her precious grandchildren. Bette worked at Meyers Bakery for 15 years and attended New Life Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Blanche Ellis of Benton.
She is survived by two sons; Phil and Tonya Rogers of Benton and Steve and Leng Rogers of Austin, Texas; precious grandchildren, Kendal and Cali Rogers of Benton one brother, Donald and Christine Ellis of Hot Springs.
Irene Bertha Helmich Schrader of Bryant went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 87 on April 12, 2014.
She was born Aug. 23, 1926, in Benton. She was a resident of Saline County for 87 years and a 1944 graduate of Bryant High School.
A lifelong Lutheran, she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Irene loved her garden and was known in her community as the â€śflower lady.â€ť Anyone who stopped at her house to inquire about the garden would leave with a bouquet and bulbs.
Billy 'Bill' Dean Tipton â€śBoss Man,â€ť 71, of Benton passed in him home April 12, 2014.
He was born Dec. 11, 1942, in Plunketville, Okla., to the late C.L. Tipton of Cove and the late Josephine Moore Johnson.
He served in the Navy and was well known for the years he owned Tipton Roofing in Benton due to his hard work and honesty. Bill enjoyed watching college sports on TV, horse races, car races and being outdoors in his garden or sitting on his swing.
All pf his life he was a hard worker and a mentor. He had a big heart and would help anyone in need.
Bryant Middle School has been evacuated for a possible bomb threat. Police are on scene investigating, said Sgt. Todd Crowson, Bryant Police Department spokesperson.
Aaliyah Grace Wilson, 7 months, went home to be with Jesus April 8, 2014.Â She was born August 14, 2013 in Benton.
Preceding her in death was her great-grandmother, Marilyn Bono Pritchard.
Besides her mother, Ariella Wilson, she is survived by grandparents, Kimberly and Vernon Wilson; Aunt Teara Wilson, Aunt Katrina Burns, Aunt Haylie Rider, Uncle Roger Pritchard,Â Aunt Terri Pritchard,Â and other relatives and friends.Â
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home.Â Interment will follow at Hicks Cemetery in Benton.Â
Faye Hicks Westerman Wehrman, 94, of Benton passed away Saturday April 12, 2014. She was born February 12, 1920 in Hot Springs. Faye was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Benton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Audie Kinsey Hicks, husbands, John Westerman and Byron Wehrman, brothers, Winfred Hicks, Delmar Hicks, and Wilbur Hicks, sisters, Sadie Ellison, Juanita Johnson, Norma Jean Jones, and Helen Detherage, great-grandson, Blake Jackson.
Wanda â€śSueâ€ť Hendrix McCallister, 77, of Benton passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014.
She was born Jan. 2, 1937, in Benton to Wade and Ruby Hendrix.
Sue was a member of Forest Hills Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy.
Bonnie L. Chenault McNeil, 88, of Benton passed away Friday, April 11, 2014.
She was born Feb. 13, 1926, in Owensville.
Mrs. McNeil was a cosmetologist and a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arch B. and Lena B. Ford Chenault; her husband, Chester L. McNeil; six brothers, Herbert, Horace, Floyd, Lilburn, Albert and Jess Chenault; and five sisters, Ora Sanders, Corene Edmonson, Bertha Gwatney, Ola Murphee and Lavern Croxton.
