Chuck Vandergriff, 51, ofÂ Malvern passed away Feb. 21, 2014 at his home.Â
He was born May 13, 1962, in Little Rock to Charles and Virginia Curtis Vandergriff.Â Chuck was of the Baptist faith and worked in sales for Frito Lay.Â
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Eva Curtis Sr., and Pete and Mary Vandergriff; and an infant brother, Clint Vandergriff.
Betty Dickinson Henderson of Little Rock died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 at Hospice Home Care. Betty was born January 16, 1935 in Denver, Colo. to Lt. Col. W.D. and Vita Dickinson. She attended elementary school at the US Military Academy at West Point where her father served on the faculty all during WW II. After the war, her family returned to Little Rock where Betty graduated from Little Rock High School. Betty graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and met her husband, Don Henderson.
Mary Janette White Thornberry, 62, of Malvern, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014.Â She was born Feb. 7, 1951 in Benton.Â Mrs. Thornberry was a member of Glen Rose Assembly of God and worked for Avaya.Â
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Lee and Nannie Maude White.
June Austin (Jim) James, 82, of Benton, went to be with The Lord on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014. He was born in Reform, on January 7, 1932 to Marshall W. James and Dora Harriet Hogue James. Jim retired from the nursery growing business. Prior to that, he was Vice President at Commercial National Bank. He also served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall W. James, and his mother, Dora Harriet Hogue James; his brother, Jerry D. James (Peggy); and his sister Joanna James Gray.
John Leroy Miller, 67, of Alexander passed away Feb. 16, 2014. He was born Feb. 22, 1946, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Agnes Miller and the late Ralph Miller.
John was a truck driver and mechanic. He retired from Fort Worth Carrier after 25 years of service.
He was an avid Washington Redskins fan.
Arthur Ralph Helmich of Benton was born Jan. 24, 1929. At the age of 85 he went to see his heavenly father whom he served wholeheartedly in all his action and deeds. He now resides in his mansion in the sky and God gave him a brand new set of tools to work with.
He was a gentle soul, a giving, inventive, industrious man who loved his wife, Shirley, of 57 years to the very end.
Arthur was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ed and Edna Helmich; his brothers, Edward and Ted; a twin brother, August; and his sister, Lucille.
Alice â€śCharleneâ€ť Roberts, 70, of Bryant passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 at her home.Â
She was born July 20, 1943 in Chandler, Okla., to the late Charles William Ussery and Vera LaRue (Reed) Tyler.
Mrs. Roberts was a registered nurse at Baptist Hyperbaric Unit and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Frank Roberts; one daughter, Jullie Irene Haynes; and one granddaughter, Shanna Rayne Ramos.
Bernice Sullivan, 95, of Benton, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 at Saline Memorial Hospital with family by her side.Â
She was born Feb. 5, 1919. She celebrated her 95th birthday with cake and family.Â
Bernice was the daughter of the late W.R. and Verda Moore. She was of the Baptist faith.
Bernice and her husband, Hosie, lived most of their married life in Texas, a state she loved. Bernice and her husband drove dump trucks in the Dallas area. She loved driving large trucks. They later retired and moved back to Benton to be near their family.
Kevin R. Griffin, 55, of Conway passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014. He was born May 18, 1958, in Texas to the late Ray and Donna (Wymore) Griffin.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Griffin of Conway; two sons, Marcus Griffin of Benton and Jacob Griffin of Conway; one grandson, Everett Bernard Griffin; two sisters, Karen Harvill (James) and Joy Griffin both of Benton; two stepsons, Kelly Beaty (Christie) of Hot Springs and Blair Beaty (Amy) of Fayetteville.Â

James "Pal" Burton, 97, of Tull passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014.
He was born July 20, 1916 in Tull.
Mr. Burton was a member of Saline Missionary Baptist Church.Â He loved the Lord and he loved his family.Â
He was a carpenter by trade, building or remodeling several houses in the Tull community.Â He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had a great love for nature and animals.Â
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wylie Burton and Dora Ashcraft Burton; his wife, Fern Burton; one brother; and six sisters.
