LOS ANGELES (AP) â€” A gunman armed with a semi-automatic rifle opened fire at the Los Angeles International Airport, killing a Transportation Security Administration employee and wounding two other people.
Tim Kauffman, a spokesman for the American Federation of Government Employees in Washington, confirmed Friday that a TSA officer was killed.
He says the union's information comes from their local officials in Los Angeles.
The attack frightened passengers and disrupted flights nationwide.
Jimmy L. Reeves, 78, of Avilla went to be with the Lord on Oct. 30, 2013. He was a member of Moose Lodge 2556 and loved wrestling and shuffleboard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Avery Reeves and Mattie Moxen; a brother, John E. Reeves; a daughter, Kim Bray; two sons, Brent Reeves and Robert Bramlett; and a grandson, Jeremy Grafe.
Janice Annette Shelton, 37, of Tull passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at her home.
She was born July 10, 1976, in Saline County to Walter Griffin and the late Eula Jean Turner Griffin.
Mrs. Shelton was a homemaker and a retired cashier service manager for Walmart.Â She was a member of Brooks Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where she was active in the Childrenâ€™s Ministry.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Wayne Griffin; and two nephews, Christopher Lewis and Walter Ammons.
Joan Elizabeth Escarre Arnold, 48, of Benton went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013.Â She was born Jan. 29, 1965, in Prescott.
She is survived by her son, John Arnold; her mother, Betty Ore; her father, P.A. Escarre; two sisters and one brother.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Ashby Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Corwin Eldred Johnson will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at Johnson Street Church of Christ, Benton, Arkansas with Brother David Watkins III officiating.
Mr. Johnson is survived by one daughter, Sharlisa Renea Johnson; his mother, Millard Burkett Johnson Adams; his stepfather, Sydney Adams Benton, all of Benton.

Owen Milton Rylie, 53, of Malvern, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013.Â
He was born Sept. 24, 1960, in Benton. Mr. Rylie was a roofer and of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen Lewis Rylie and Ruby Lee Rylie; his sisters, Betty Sanders and Carolyn Rylie; and his brother, Archie Rylie.
Sarah Gray Bernhard Pittman, 80, of Wills Point, Texas, formerly of Greenwood, Miss., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013.
She was born June 7, 1933, to Allen Christopher Bernhard and Hilda Hammett Bernhard in Lexington, Miss. She had a wonderful childhood with her family in Greenwood, as well as with her extended family from Lexington.
She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1951, attended Millsaps College, and then became a stewardess with American Airlines, based in Dallas, Texas.
LITTLE ROCK â€“ The Benton Lady Panthers ended their regular season defeating the Mount Saint Mary Belles Thursday night in Little Rock. Benton won its last four matches and 14 of the its past 15 matches with the Lady Panthers only loss coming to Conway in the Lady Cat Invitational two weeks ago. Benton swept every match in the 7A/6A South conference finishing 12-0 in league play and 20-3 overall.
Jebby Wayne Abbott, 56, passed away Oct. 25, 2013. Jebby was born April 5, 1957, in Little Rock.
Jebby was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia â€śAnnâ€ť Abbott.
