Russellville too much for Bryant

September 18, 2014

BRYANT – The Bryant Lady Hornets ran into a tough opponent Tuesday night in Bryant when the Russellville Lady Cyclones swept the Lady Hornets 3-0 (21-25, 11-25, 16-25) in 7A/6A Central Conference play.

“Russellville is a very good team, period,” Bryant Coach Lawrence Jefferson said. “They’re right up there with Texas High we played at Spikefest. I think (Russellville) is a little better. They hit well, they cover well, they pass well, they serve well; I don’t think they did anything bad [Tuesday].”

Hutchinson predicts oncoming advertising onslaught

September 18, 2014

LITTLE ROCK — Republican gubernatorial candidate Asa Hutchinson said Wednesday that Arkansas residents are about to be treated to something that voters in Iowa and New Hampshire see every four years — a barrage of political advertising.

Speaking to the Political Animals club in Little Rock, Hutchinson estimated that candidates up and down the ballot would spend $16 million over the next seven weeks on television and other media ads. He compared the upcoming ad blitz to the opening races of runs for the White House.
