A public meeting Wednesday to discuss final revisions of a resolution for the Saline County Regional Solid Waste Management District Board of Directors ended after an approximate 70-minute comment session involving half a dozen members of the public.
The resolution under consideration would establish requirements for waste hauler licenses, vehicle permits and regulations associated with businesses engaged in waste collection in Saline County.
The resolution includes regulations waste haulers have been following for a number of years plus two changes.
The American Red Cross offered Salt Bowl rivals Benton and Bryant high schools a chance for a rematch and Benton came out victorious.
The two schools had partnered with the Red Cross in a competition to determine which one could draw the highest percentage of student donations.

Cameron Joe Burget "CJ", born Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 9:04 am, went to play in the sky above on the September 21, 2014 at 12:22 p.m. CJ spent his hours here on Earth in the arms of his family.
CJ is survived by his parents Cameron and Baily Burget of Benton, sister Emma Burget; Grandparents Dennis and Liz Burget of Benton, R.B. Ramsey and wife Terri of Malvern, and Laura Wells of Benton, Aunt Cassandra Burget of Little Rock, Uncle Corey Burget of Benton, and Aunt Josie of West Virginia, plus many more family and friends.
Nancy Jane Perry, 75, of Benton passed away Wednesday September 24, 2014. She was born March 30, 1939 in Indiana. Nancy was a retired clerical worker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Leota Hathcock, husband Kenneth Perry.
She is survived by, sons, Ed Harvey of California; John Hulsey of North Carolina; daughter, Candy Ramsey of Benton; brother, Jerry Hathcock of California; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Monday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel.
