Lt. Governor candidate to run on campaign to abolish the office

In a press release issued this morning, State Rep. Andy Mayberry wants to abolish the office he seeks. Mayberry today released details of his plan to eliminate the position of lieutenant governor in Arkansas. He is a Republican candidate for the office and will compete in the May 20 primary election. Mayberry first announced in August 2013 that he would run for lieutenant governor.

Rocky Brooks Denison

Rocky Brooks Denison, 61, of Benton passed away on March 16, 2014.
He was born Jan. 7, 1953 in Lamesa, Texas. He graduated from UALR in 1986 with an associate degree in nursing.
He retired in February 2013 from the VA Hospital, where he was an RN and a member of the Emergency Medical Response Team.
He also served as a constable in Saline County and a volunteer firefighter in Salem.
Rocky was an avid guitar and harmonica player. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and a member of the CAC Harley Owners Group.

Arthur M. 'Monty' Anderson Jr.

Arthur M. “Monty” Anderson Jr., 56, of Benton passed away Monday, March 17, 2014.  He was born July 2, 1957 in Little Rock. 
Arthur was a dental lab technician and of the Catholic faith. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Anderson Sr. and Patricia Cole Anderson; and a daughter, Stephanie Renee Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Carla Anderson; a daughter, Nichole Edwards (Jason); two sisters, Jane Ivy (Michael) and Lea Thennes (Mike); and one grandson, Vincent Anderson Edwards.
