•Gregory Holmes, 44, of Benton was arrested on Summerwood Drive and charged with public intoxication.
•A man on Worth Avenue reported items were stolen from his garage.
•An employee at Jimmy's Super Stop on Edison Avenue reported an individual left without paying the full amount for fuel.
•A man on Country Oaks drive reported several items were stolen from his residence.

•A caller in Alexander advised that a man had pulled a gun on someone.
•A man in Mabelvale reported someone broke into his home.

In such a football conscious state, it is hard to believe that anyone missed the news about Ray Rice's contract being terminated with the Baltimore Ravens and his indefinite suspension from the NFL.

Rice's football career was upended on Monday after TMZ posted footage of Rice striking his then-fiancée, now wife, in an elevator. The blow knocked Janay Rice (formerly Palmer) unconscious and led to his arrest on assault charges.

Paul Eugene Shaw

Paul Eugene Shaw, 75, of Bryant, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014.  He was born May 30, 1939, in McCrory. Woodruff County, to Paul Moses and Gladys Thompson Shaw.  Following high school, Paul served in the United States Air Force during the peacetime between the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.  Simple in his taste, Paul was a quiet and gentle man, slow to anger and always quick with his laughter and sense of humor.
