Hit-and-run claims life of Traskwood woman

A Traskwood woman died of injuries suffered in a hit-and-run accident in Little Rock on Thursday afternoon and Deonte Jones, 18, of Little Rock has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Heather Cater, 22, was struck by Jones who was allegedly driving a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe being pursued by Pulaski County sheriff’s deputies through parking lots on South University Road.

Cater had finished her shift at work and was standing beside her vehicle, speaking with co-workers, at the time of the incident.

•A man on South Border Street reported his all-terrain vehicle and utility trailer were stolen.
•Robert Runyan, 69, of Traskwood was arrested at Holland Ball Park and charged with disorderly conduct, carrying a prohibited weapon and aggravated assault. During the same incident, James Dougherty, 65, was cited for disorderly conduct and terroristic threatening.
