Skylar Leigh McDonald, 15, of Bauxite went to be with the Lord on Sept. 2, 2014.  She was born Sept. 23, 1998, in Benton. 
Skylar is survived by her parents, Olean L. McDonald Sr. and Pia Celestine McDonald of Bauxite; two brothers, Timothy Prophitt of Mabelvale and Olean L. McDonald Jr. of Bauxite; three sisters, Hope Stewart of Clarksville, Jessica Steelman of Shannon Hills and Tiffany Mullins of Shannon Hills; her grandparents, Derrall and Jean Cunningham of Bauxite, Stella Castro of Texas, and Wayne and Jan Ballentine of Joplin, Mo.

Fred Allen Yates

Fred Allen Yates, age 65, of Benton died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Ima Dee Yates.
He is survived by his best friend and wife of 43 years, Janie Yates of Benton; two sons and their wives, Tod and Angie Yates of Louisville, Ky., and Jerry and Christina Yates of Benton; three granddaughters, Alexis, Samantha and Gracie; three grandsons, Cody, Dylan and DJ; and two great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Kenneth, Paul Ed and Dan; and one sister, Cathy Sides.

John Martin Van Hoose

John Martin Van Hoose, 77, of Little Rock passed away Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014.  He was born Jan. 25, 1937, in Thealka, Ky.
Mr. Van Hoose graduated from Paintsville High School in Kentucky in 1954.  He retired from the Air Force with the rank of chief master sergeant after 27 years and later went on to retire from the Air Force Reserve. Also, he retired from Lucent Technology after 23 years.
Mr. Van Hoose was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church. 

Billy Ray Pater

Billy Ray Pater, 56 of Alexander, passed away Monday, Sept. 1, 2014. 
He was born Jan. 8, 1958, in Hope to Glen and Bobbie Smith Pater.
Billy was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Pater of Michigan; a son, Craig Pater of Alexander; a stepson, Joshua Arndt of Michigan; his mother, Bobbie Pater of Bryant; a brother, Michael Pater of Bryant; three sisters, Sharon Holt of Mablevale, Regina Lattin of Mabelvale and Barbara Briggs of Bauxite; and a grandson, Noah Pater.
