Alma J. Cash, 88, of Benton passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in Little Rock.Â She was born July 29, 1926 in Little Rock to the late Albert and Nira Grimmett Cheatham.Â Mrs. Cash was a CNA for the State of Arkansas and was a member of Smyrna Bible Church.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard P. Cash, two sons, Larry D. Matthews and Rusty Lynn Matthews; and one daughter, Beverly G. Matthews Williams.
Buddy Wayne English, 76, of Benton, passed away September 10, 2014. He was born to the late Jim E. and Ruby Berry English on August 22, 1938 in Bauxite.
Buddy Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James E. English, Charles English, and infant brother; and sister, LaWanda Stuckey.
LITTLE ROCK â€“ The Bryant Lady Hornets cross country team competed at the Minuteman Cross Country Invitational Saturday held at Western Hills Park in Little Rock.
Bryant started off the regular season in style by winning the team championship in a dominating performance. The Lady Hornets put all their scoring runners in the top 11 places to win with a score of 33 points.Â LR Christian was runner-up with 51 points followed by Cabot (88), Mount St. Mary (118), Vilonia (132), and Pulaski Academy (168).Â There were 15 teams and 114 total runners in the race.Â
