Municipal filings continue; Aug. 15 is last day to file

Municipal filings for the November general election include the following candidates. The recent filing period opened at noon July 25 and closes at noon Aug. 15.

The candidates listed here also include those who previously filed for county positions before the preferential primary election, but will be included on the Nov. 4 general election ballot.

Great Futures Campaign kicks off for local youth clubs

On behalf of the youth in Saline County, three local Boys & Girls Clubs have joined the National Great Futures Campaign for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, which kicked off today.

•The owner of Olde Towne Benton on South East Street reported a woman stole a purse.
•Timothy Jones, 30, of Malvern was arrested on Reed Street for allegedly being disorderly.
•A woman on Chatfield Road reported a residential break-in.
•Charles Ross, 19, of Broken Bow, Okla. was arrested near Hazel Street and charged with driving while intoxicated and criminal trespassing.
