Minimum wage raise to appear on Ark. ballot

Arkansans will have a chance to vote on whether to raise the statewide minimum wage during the November election.

Secretary of State Mark Martin announced Tuesday that the Act to Increase the Arkansas Minimum Wage has met signature requirements and will appear on the Nov. 4 ballot.

County law enforcement banquet set for November

Saline County Prosecuting Attorney Ken Casady and his office will be hosting a banquet honoring Saline County law enforcement personnel.

Everett Buick GMC will serve as corporate sponsor for the event.

During the event, U.S. Attorney Chris Thyer of the Eastern District of Arkansas will be the featured speaker.
"Last year was a great event, and it is going to be even bigger and better this year," Casady said.
