Arthur Ralph Helmich of Benton was born Jan. 24, 1929. At the age of 85 he went to see his heavenly father whom he served wholeheartedly in all his action and deeds. He now resides in his mansion in the sky and God gave him a brand new set of tools to work with.
He was a gentle soul, a giving, inventive, industrious man who loved his wife, Shirley, of 57 years to the very end.
Arthur was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ed and Edna Helmich; his brothers, Edward and Ted; a twin brother, August; and his sister, Lucille.
He is survived by his sisters, Irene Schrader of Benton and Helen Auw of Oregon; a brother, Clarence Helmich of Tennessee; and his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley Helmich. He left behind his legacy of daughters, Carrie Helmich, and grandson Garrett Crump, and Sharon Thomas and her husband, Mark Thomas.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Alissa Thomas and friend Vada Harrell and Jared Thomas and wife Katie; great-grandsons, Luke; Seth Thomas and wife Jamie, Gabe and Aidan; and numerous family members and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant, Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Visitation is set from be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at the funeral home.
