Benton police arrest second burglary suspect in two days

Benton police have arrested two burglary suspects this week.
Officers on Tuesday afternoon responded to Dogwood Lakes Apartments on report of a residential burglary, where several items had been stolen.
Evidence gathered at the scene implicated suspect Dustin Hines, 23, who was located and arrested a short time later.
Hines is charged with residential burglary, theft of property, possession of a controlled substance and obstructing government operations.
Additionally, he has an active warrant out of Faulkner County for probation revocation.
On Monday afternoon, police responded to an attempted burglary call at a home on Sharon Road and shortly afterward charged Preston Johnson, 28, with the crime.
According to police, it appeared that someone had tried to enter the home. Officers said it was clear that an attempt had been made to kick in the door of the home. Also visible was damage to several window screens.
Police officers searched the area for suspects and quickly located Johnson.
Evidence gathered at the scene reportedly implicated Johnson. He was charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary, criminal mischief, and breaking and entering.
