Benton Police Department receive several shoplifting calls

Benton police officers had several shoplifting incidents reported on Monday and Tuesday.
Walmart, Jcpenney, Best Buy and RadioShack were all affected.
Two incidents were reported at Walmart. During one incident, an employee reported he witnessed a woman steal some merchandise. In a different incident, an employee reported a counterfeit $100 bill.
At Jcpenney, an employee reported he witnessed a man take a shopping bag, placed several items in the bag and then walked out of the store. The employee told officers he is unsure how much merchandise the man took, according to the police report.
At Best Buy, an employee reported a group of women came into the store. One woman distracted the person who was working by the front door while two other women then walked out of the store with four Xbox One gaming consoles valued at about $2,500, according to the police report.
After a shoplifting incident was reported at RadioShack, a man was arrested for shoplifting and being named on two active warrants. The full story about this incident is available in Thursday's paper.
