Benton Police investigating pedestrian fatality

On 1-19-13, at approximately 9:30 PM, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to the I-30 South Service Road near the 114 mile marker on report of a pedestrian vs. vehicle accident.
Upon their arrival it was determined a pedestrian, later identified as Willie Donson (41 YOA), was deceased due to injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle. It was determined the driver of the vehicle, Tim Chism (26 YOA), was traveling east on the I-30 South Service Road near the 114 mile marker when the vehicle he was operating struck Mr. Donson. Donson was also walking east bound on the service road and was wearing dark colored clothing at the time of the accident.
Mr. Donson’s next of kin were notified of the incident and the Benton Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the accident to determine the cause. No arrests were made at the time of the accident and the investigation is on-going.
