Bernard V. Heldebrand

Bernard V. Heldebrand, 82, of Benton passed away Jan. 11 at Saline Memorial Hospital.
Bernie was raised in Camden, Arkansas.  After high school, he served in the Air Force for 22 years.  He retired as a flight engineer and lived in Hawaii and then Las Vegas. After his wife, Grace, passed away, he moved back to Arkansas. where he learned to fly small airplanes at age 67, bringing great joy to his life.
He is survived by three daughters, Deborah Christie of Houston, Texas, Cynthia Parcher and Pamela Clark, both of Norman, Okla.; a son, Tony Heldebrand of New York; two brothers, Lowell Heldebrand of Mansfield and James Heldebrand of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Evelyn Woods of Edinburg, Texas; several grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton. Burial will follow at Bluff City Cemetery in Camden.
