Billie Jean Westbrook Tanner

Billie Jean Westbrook Tanner, 83, of Benton went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 6, 2014.
She was born Jan. 1, 1931, in Haskell.
Mrs. Tanner was a homemaker and a member of Holland Chapel Baptist Church.  She spent 30 years volunteering with the Saline Memorial Hospital Auxiliary including serving as treasurer. 
Mrs. Tanner was preceded in death by her parents, L.A. “Bill” and Vida Westbrook; and her husband, David W. Tanner.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Black, and husband Eddie of Benton; and a granddaughter, Katie Black Allen and husband Shawn of Grand Junction, Colo.
She was a wonderful and thoughtful mother and proud grandmother who brought joy to those around her.
Billie always appreciated those that helped her through the day at Mt. Carmel Community in Benton and Fox Ridge Senior Living in Bryant. She left behind many caring friends and workers at each place. 
Funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at Ashby Funeral Home wit the Rev. Carl Richey and the Rev. Kim Hammer officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Harmony Cemetery. 
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 9, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Saline Memorial Health Foundation, #1 Medical Park Drive, Benton, AR  72015.
