BREAKING NEWS: Bryant's Ezell named Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year

Bryant senior shortstop Trevor Ezell holds up his Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year banner he received Monday. Ezell was named the top baseball player in the state for his accomplishments both on and off the field as well as in the classroom.

Bryant Hornet shortstop Trevor Ezell received the Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year award Monday in a brief ceremony at Bishop Park in Bryant. The senior offensive and defensive standout is the second Bryant athlete to receive the award, following former Lady Hornet pitcher Peyton Jenkins.

Ezell helped lead the Hornets to the 2014 7A State Championship in May, beating Fayetteville, 10-0. Ezell hit for a .524 batting average this past season with 43 base hits in 82 official at-bats and scored 47 runs with 39 RBI, 12 doubles, nine triples and 17 stolen bases. He also added six home runs to his resume

Ezell recently signed with Southeastern Missouri to play baseball on the college level.
