Carrie Nell Burks

Carrie Nell Burks, 92, Warren, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Chapel Woods Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Cleveland County, a daughter of the late Tom Burks and Lillie Endsley Burks. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a longtime beautician and started Carrie Nells Beauty Shop in Warren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl A Burks, whom she married in 1936; he died in 1973. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Joe Burks, Preston Burks, Calvin Burks, Travis Burks; and a sister. Ruthie Mae Childress.
She is survived by her two daughters, Pat Baker of Bryant and Linda Wooldridge of Warren; a brother, G.W. Burks of Belton, Mo.; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at Moseley Cemetery with the Rev. Rocky Goodwin officiating. Burial will be at Moseley Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
Open visitation is scheduled at Frazer’s Funeral Home.
