Charles Wayne Allen, 65, a resident of the Fairplay Community near Benton, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013. 
Charlie was born in Malvern, to Clarence and Geneva Allen.  He worked for Rock Island Railroad and then spent the next 30 years as a freight broker in the trucking industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Hockersmith Allen; three sons, Rodney Allen of Little Rock, Jason Allen and wife Shanna of Maumelle and Justin Allen and wife Brittany of Benton; a brother, Gerald Allen and wife Lucy of Hot Springs Village; four sisters, Yvonne Allen of Pittsburg, Texas, Rebecca Dowdell of Dallas, Texas, Lita Jendrysik and husband Rick of Fort Meyers, Fla., Teresa Allen and husband George Spinka of San Diego, Calif., and Roberta McCarthy and husband John of Fort Meyers, Fla.; six grandchildren, Bailey, Brody, Brantly, Laney, Carson and Connor Allen; a great-grandson, Logan Thompson; and one niece and two nephews.
Graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, at Fairplay Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 18, at Ashby Funeral Home.
