Committee to discuss improvements to Northshore

July 15, 2014

Benton City Council's Streets and Drainage Committee is set to meet today at 6 p.m. to discuss and possibly approve bids to improve Northshore Drive.

The meeting will be in Mayor David Mattingly's conference room at the Benton Municipal Complex.

Mattingly said that during the improvements to Military Road, Northshore was determined to be "outside of the scope" of the project. Mattingly stated that at some point the design efforts had to stop and could only go so far into adjacent properties. He said the city has been aware of drainage issues on Northshore as well as Cody and Pamela Roads caused by enlargements to Military Road.

Mattingly said that this project is estimated to cost $85,000 including all engineering and design costs.
A Finance Committee meeting will take place immediately following the Streets and Drainage Committee meeting at 6:15 p.m. to discuss funding for specific street and drainage projects.

All committee meetings are open to the public.
