David Edward Harris

Pastor David Edward Harris, 64, of Little Rock went to be with his Lord on Jan. 1. He was born July 18, 1948, to Leo and Mary Harris in Little Rock.
David was a very devoted and loving husband, son, father and grandfather. He dedicated his life to helping and mentoring others; he truly had a servant’s heart.
He was the pastor for 36 years of Oak Park Baptist Church in Little Rock. He was an avid sports fan and loved listening to music.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Harris, and his beautiful granddaughter, Maci Harris.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Christine Harris; his father, Leo Harris; a son, Paul Harris and wife Shannan; a daughter, Beth Harris; four grandchildren, Caleb Harris, Kelsy Dement, Mekenna Dement and Kori Dement; a brother, Gene Harris and wife Peggy; and many family members, church family and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.
