DeLena Peterson, 92, of Bauxite passed away Feb. 13.  She was born April 5, 1920, in the Shaw Community to the late James Albert and Anna Mae Brazil Kentner. Delena attended West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 73 years, John T. Peterson; three sisters, Sophie Miller, Emma Whitfield and Imogene Thurston; and four brothers, James Kentner, John Kentner, Jeff Kentner and Joe Kentner.
She is survived by her son, James E. Thurston and wife Edith; daughter, Kathy P. Glover and husband, William, sister, Rebecca McCool, grandchildren, Jennifer Glover, John M. Thurston and wife, Joanna, Joanna Strike and husband, Chad, Jessica Paradise and husband, Justin, great grand children, Brielle Glover, Josiah, Isaiah and Cassia Strike, numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church with Brother
Melvin Burris officiating. Burial will follow at New Friendship Cemetery.
Pallbearers are John Thurston, Chad Strike, Justin Paradise, Clay Kyle, Sean Alexander and Robert Parsons. 
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 14, at the funeral home.
