Donald Gray McMillan

Donald Gray McMillan, 86, of Benton passed away Thursday, Feb. 7. 
He was born Jan. 18, 1927, in Little Rock, to the late Eugene McMillan and Maye Morehead McMillan. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marguerite McMillan; and by his brothers, William McMillan and Ray McMillan.
He was a 1945 graduate of Pine Bluff High School, attended Louisiana Tech University and was a 1951 graduate of the University of Arkansas, where he earned a bachelor's degree in journalism.
He was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army twice, first as a private during World War II, and again as a second lieutenant in Korea and Japan during the Korean conflict. 
He worked for Arkansas Power and Light Co., the University of Arkansas Agricultural Extension Center, and Democrat Printing and Lithograph Co.
Don was an avid photographer, golfer and computing hobbyist. He was a fan of classical music and the Arkansas Razorbacks football team, and he loved to work in his yard. Don was a kind and loving husband, father, brother and son.
He is survived by his wife, Joretta Deal McMillan of Benton; two sons, Richard McMillan and Roger McMillan of New York; and a niece and nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047).
