Emery L. Smith Jr., 83, of Benton passed away Saturday, Feb. 9. He was born April 21, 1930, in England. Mr. Smith was a master plumber, a self-employed equipment operator and a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery L. Smith Sr. and Hassie M. Smith; brother Jerry Smith; and three sisters, Agnes Wilson, Lucille Garrett and Juanita Hughes.
He is survived by his wife, Lola Smith; daughter Donna Kyzer and husband Billy, all of Benton; three grandchildren, Stacy Cunningham, Bill Kyzer and wife Ragan and Michelle Beaty; and four great-grandchildren, Dylan Beaty, Lauren Beaty, Preston Kyzer and Ashton Kyzer.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at New Rosemont Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Watson, Randy Richards, David Treece, Alan Treece, Jim Ed Stilwell, Jerrod Crouch, Mike Hartman and Clifford Wilhelm.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Ashby Funeral Home.
