Ernest M. 'Tex' Phillips

Ernest M. “Tex” Phillips passed away Sept. 21, 2013. He was born May 24, 1919, in Tull. He was a sea-going Marine Corps veteran of Solomon Islands campaign.
He was a member and past commander of the VFW,. He was active in Masonic Orders and a past president of Lakewood Kiwanis Club. He wa active in local Republican politics.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Anna; his daughters, Paula Phillips Burger and husband Peter and Anna Lee Andrews and husband Charles; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Burger Munfa and husband Marc; nieces, Mary Elizabeth Duncan and Sheila Evans of Tull and Phyllis Bearden of Bryant; nephews, Roy Jackson of Mablevale, Michael and Joe Phillips of California; and a great-nephew, Terry Brunbelow of Tull.
Funeral service was scheduled today, Sept. 26, at Lakewood Presbyterian in Lakewood, Ohio. Burial was set for Lakewood Park Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Brinkman Dress Funeral Home, 13443 Detroit Ave., Lakewood, Ohio 44107.
