Esther Thompson

Esther Thompson, 85, of Benton passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant.
She was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Shaw to the late Anderson and Carrie Burton Parsons.
Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and a member of New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. 
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Carl James Thompson; two sons, Douglas and Dwight Thompson; and her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by one son, Larry Thompson and wife Diana of Benton; a daughter-in-law, Paula Thompson of Haskell; and her grandchildren, Viola Hobby and husband Jeromy and Carrie Thompson.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at New Friendship Cemetery in the Shaw community with the Rev. Jerry Wallace officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047).
Memorials in Mrs. Thompson’s honor may be made to New Friendship Cemetery Fund.
