Franklin Gale Bivins

Franklin Gale Bivins, 78, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord Feb. 11.
Gale was born Jan. 26, 1935, in Roland to Ebenezer and Edna Bivins.  He worked for 21 years as a diesel mechanic at Roadway Express.  Gale enjoyed gardening, woodworking and tinkering with cars.
His favorite holiday was Christmas and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren Gale was a member of Family Church in Bryant. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister; Edna Carolyn Studer. 
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marita; three children, Frank Bivins and wife Paula of Heber Springs, Ray Bivins and wife Carol of Bryant, Karen Strayhorn and husband Kevin of Little Rock; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Matthew, Adam, Amy and Nathan Bivins of Heber Springs and Kendal and Koby Strayhorn of Little Rock. 
Gale also leaves five siblings, Mary Ann Bixler, Rose Bradley, Don Bivins, Kay Moreland and Frieta Bivins; and other family members and friends.
Funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15,at Family Church in Bryant with Pastor Perry Black and Pastor Kern Severtson officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 14, at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home in Alexander.    
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made in Gale's name to Second Chance Ranch, P.O. Box 901, Bryant, AR 72089.
