Gilbert 'Gil' Struble

Gilbert “Gil” Struble, 73, passed away Jan. 4, at his home in Springfield, Mo. He was born Jan. 6, 1939, in Panama City, Okla., to Elmer and Josephine (Reather) Struble.
Gil graduated from Benton High School in 1957.
He worked as a machinist and mechanic for most of his life with people such as Buddy Baker and Bill Moss of Moss Kart. He also worked at TRW, Northrup and Boeing before retiring in 2005.
Gil loved auto racing, antique cars, vacations in the Caribbean and a good comedy show. Gill will be remembered for his personality and his telling of jokes. He was a person who always was in a good mood and who loved his wife, children and country. He was a person who tried to help others and was everyone’s friend. He will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Arthur Struble.
He is survived by his wife of four years, Ruby Struble; four children from his first marriage to Peggy Joan Kostreba, Dan and wife Sandy of Ozark, Mo., Tammy McCausland of Portland, Ore., Wesley and wife Marlyn of Ozark, Mo., and Amy Lorsheider of Ozark, Mos., and husband Eric; and grandchildren, Aaron Struble, Jessica Groetzinger, Miranda McCausland, Casey Struble, Derik Groetzinger, Austin Struble, Toree Vandyke, Emma Leigh Kostreba, Grant and Lindsey Lorsheider.
A private service will be held at a later date.
