Glenn Ray Spears

Glenn Ray Spears, 64, of Benton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 15.  He was born Aug. 17, 1948 in Winfield, La.  Mr. Spears retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, owned Spears Adult Daycare and wrote policies and procedures for adult day care facilities in Arkansas.
He love to kayak but his greatest joy in life were his grandchildren. 
Mr. Spears was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Lillian Spears; a brother, Delbert Spears; and a sister-in-law, Carol Spears.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Hurt Spears of Benton; four sons, Shane Spears and wife Kelly of Dry Prong, La., Matthew Spears and wife Angela of Dry Prong, La., Jason Hurt and wife Lee of Benton and Aaron Eastworth and wife Amber of Benton; a daughter, Carolyn Adcock and husband Wayne of Mabelvale; two brothers, James Spears and wife Sandy of Benton and John Spears of Benton; a brother-in-law, Dr. Alfred Harrell and wife Marta of Little Rock; 12 grandchildren, Matt Adcock, Kymber Hurt, Amber Hurt, Tristian Spears, Colten Eastworth, Chase Hurt, Megan Eastworth, Haley Spears, Caden Spears, Audrey Spears, Owen Spears and Austin Spears.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22. at Ashby Funeral Home with Dr. Alfred Harrell officiating.
