Guy D. 'Butch' Hendrix

Guy D. “Butch” Hendrix, 69, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 17. He was born Nov. 11, 1943, at the Bauxite hospital.
Butch retired from Alcoa as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of New Life Church of God, member of Moose Lodge No. 2567, a die-hard Elvis Presley fan and loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He coached softball at Sardis and was very proud to be a Watch Dog Dad at Pine Haven Elementary School.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Willis Hendrix and Helen Ruth Lemons Hendrix; a daughter, Tina Renee Hendrix Quantz; and an infant grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Sutton Hendrix; two sons, Jeffery Hendrix of Benton and Guy Dustin Hendrix of Springdale; three daughters, Guylann Hendrix of California, Tonya Hendrix Ables of Bryant and Hailey Ables Hendrix of Bauxite; a stepdaughter, Becky Cockrell Mincy of White Hall; a brother, Travis Odell Hendrix of Shannon Hills; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at Ashby Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Willlis officiating. Burial will follow at Bauxite Cemetery.
Visitation is set from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at the funeral home.
