Helen Lorene Tarry Pettit Comer

Helen Lorene Tarry Pettit Comer, born June 6, 1927, died Feb. 5, at Chambers Nursing Home in Carlisle.
She was of the Pentecostal faith, attended Solid Rock Pentecostal Church (Pastor Elton Lambert of Alexander). 
Ms. Comer was owner and administrator of Comer Nursing Home in Carlisle from 1961 to February 1992.  She was loved by the many residents and family members throughout those many years.
Helen loved the work she was doing and the people she helped. 
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Bill Comer and Dalton Pettit; her parents, F.W. and Mae Tarry; a grandson, Richey Brown.
She is survived by her son, Larry Pettit and wife Judy of Almyra; a daughter, Judy Roberts and husband Herchel of Alexander; a brother, Buddy Tarry and wife Cleta; a sister, Pauline Forrester and husband Troy, all of Des Arc; two stepsons, Carroll Comer and wife Barbara and Donald Comer and wife Jill; all of Indiana; grandchildren, Todd Brown and wife Laura, Greg Brown and wife Lana, and Pete, Scott, Brandy Pettit; five great-grandchildren, Matthew Brown and wife Micha, Jacob Brown, Seth Brown and wife Ali, Robin Gibson and husband Ben, and Kourtney Pettit; one step-grandson, Luke Ward; three great-great grandchildren, Brayden, Brynnlee and Isabella Brown.
Funeral service is set for 2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke. Burial will be at Hazen Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.  
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. before the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Disease research, or The American Heart Association, Little Rock, AR.
