Jeffrey Zane Neel

Jeffrey Zane Neel, 19, of the Big Creek Community died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, in Saline County.  He was born in Benton on Dec. 22, 1993, to Jeffrey Shawn Neel and Nikki Hewitt Neel Garrett.
Zane attended school in Poyen for a time prior to being home-schooled by his mother, Nikki.  He worked at Walgreens and attended Pulaski Technical College studying auto mechanics.  Zane was currently working as an auto mechanic for Riverside Acura-Subaru in Little Rock.
He was a member of Calvary Southern Baptist Church, and was an avid musician. 
Zane was preceded in death by his mother Nikki Garrett; a brother, Zachary Garrett; his grandparents, Carolyn Whittecar; Robert W. “Bobby” Neel; and great-grandparents, Flora Jean and Joe Tarpley.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Shawn and Cyndi Neel of Bryant; by his stepfather, Waylon Garrett of Big Creek; three sisters, Taylor Garrett of Big Creek, Jynni Neel of Bryant, and Nikki Martin and husband Jonathon of Fort Smith; five brothers, Jakob Neel of Bryant, Jason Holt and wife Amy of North Carolina, Justin Holt and wife Mary of Little Rock, Zak Holt and wife Jacklyn of Fort Smith, and Josh Holt and wife Kim of Little Rock; his grandparents, Eddie and Mary Alice Hewitt, Jim and Jan Garrett, Carolyn Neel and Jeanice L. Neel; and seven nephews.
Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in the sanctuary of Second Baptist Church with Brothers Mark Thornton and Jim Garrett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Big Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Hine, Sam Gill, Brady Gray, Mitchell Johnson, Wade Kinnu, Jarrett McDaniel and Jonathon James.
The family received friends at J.A. Funk Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 17.
