Jerry Earl Welton

October 29, 2013

Jerry Earl Welton of Benton went to be with the Lord Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at the age of 79.
He was born Jan. 10, 1934, in Pottsville.
God gifted him with strength of character and a personality that drew love as well as admiration of all whose lives he touched. Through Jerry’s work in church, schools, the Gideons and his lifelong profession in the car business, he left the testimony of his faith on many.
His surviving wife, Barbara Ann, and his brother, Ronnie, are among those who first knew this wonderful man. He was affectionately known as Daddy by his children and Papa by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the adored member of a family who always put God first, his family second and himself last.
A private family memorial service will be held in his honor. The family expresses appreciation to all the many friends who have loved him during his time on earth.
