Jimmy Doyle Hobby Sr., 77, of Benton passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013. He was born Dec. 29, 1935, in Saline County. Jimmy was a retired mechanic, a member of Sardis United Methodist Church and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlie and Lethel Dorsey Hobby; his wife, Melba; and a daughter, Vicki Abbott.
He is survived by two sons, Jimmy Doyle Hobby Jr. of Benton and David Hobby of Benton; two daughters, Wanda Jones of Benton and Debra King of Jacksonville; a brother, Donald Hobby of Benton; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Sardis United Methodist Church. Burial will be held at McPherson Cemetery in Sardis.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 24, at Ashby Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sardis United Methodist Church.
