Mamie Louise Pettus Dobbins

Mamie Louise Pettus Dobbins, 94, of Pine Bluff, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born on December 21, 1918, in Bauxite, she was a daughter of the late Louis Jethro and Pearl Careen Pettus. She married Judson Foy Dobbins March 28, 1937. They had one daughter and three sons and shared sixty-two years of marriage until his death in 1999. Mrs. Dobbins was a stay-at-home mother and enjoyed cooking, Sunday school classes and in later years visiting with friends during lunch times at the Area Agency on Aging. She was a member of Strumming Seniors at Immanuel Baptist Church. She was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church in Watson Chapel. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Wallace, Dean and Dillard Pettus, three sisters, Olivette Montgomery, Jean Zaragoza and Opal Reeves and one infant great-grandson, Matthew Jordan Dobbins.
She is survived by daughter, Iris June Wheeler and husband, Kenneth, of Pine Bluff; three sons, Thomas A. Dobbins and wife, Carolyn, of Sheridan, John W. Dobbins and wife, Elizabeth, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, James A. Dobbins and wife, Sherry, of Speedwell, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Kenneth B. Wheeler, Jr., Janet Milligan, both of Pine Bluff,  Jeffrey Dobbins, of Sheridan, Bruce Dobbins, of Little Rock, Dianna Boston, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Debra Bailey, of Brandon, Mississippi, Jessica Dobbins, of Cabot and Siana Dobbins, of Benton; fourteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Joe Pettus, of Benton and Clayton Pettus, of Bauxite and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 18, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Reverends Todd Howard and M. L. Faler officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before service time at Robinson’s.
