Marianna McKee

Marianna McKee of Fort Smith passed away Thursday, Feb. 23. She was born May 26, 1914, in Wolfe City, Texas, to Anna and Rufus Johnston.
A retired teacher from Fort Smith Public Schools, she was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church, an avid reader, a bird enthusiast and an Arkansas Razorback fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis McKee; and a sister, Ophelia Shepherd.
She is survived by her son, Bill McKee of Benton; a daughter, Ann Thames of Union, Ky.; her grandchildren, Courtney Sundquist of San Antonio, Texas, Graham Thames of St. Louis, Mo., Ryan McKee of Tulsa, Okla., and Lauren Barr of Boston, Mass; three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Seriah and Garrett Sundquist of San Antonio, Texas; and a wonderful second family of neighbors and friends.
Funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m, Monday, Feb. 27, at Goddard United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at National Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Graham Thames, Ryan McKee, Jim Dunn, Mike Thames, Michael Thames and Robert Cloninger.
Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Kelly, Bob Willett, Harry Miller, Brett Kelchen, Tommy Gammage, Marvin Richardson, Calvin Evans, Jeff Creighton, Lt. Col. Victor Sundquist and Dr. John Barr.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, at the funeral home.
