Maudie Ann Ramsey Udey

Maudie Ann Ramsey Udey went home on July 11, 2014. She was born in Nashville, TN on March 19, 1915 to Manuel and Ida Hendrix Ramsey. Maudie was in the first graduating class of Bryant High School and served as Salutatorian. She attended nursing school to become a LPTN and went to work at Benton State Hospital in 1950. She retired in 1977 with 27 years of service.
Maudie loved her family, church, and never met a stranger. She was always proud to tell her age, that she took no medicines, and always shared her faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers; and special grandson, Jeffrey DuVall.
Maudie is survived by her children; Pat Edmonson and husband Lynn, Doris Menken and husband Robert, Larry Udey and wife Pauline, Marian DuVall and husband Joe; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who loved Maudie and will miss her always.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 15, at Trinity Baptist Church, 702 Church St., in Benton, officiated by Rev. Mike Titsworth. Private burial to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Building Fund or Gentevia Hospice.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 14 at Smith Family Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., in Benton. For information, call 501-778-7100.
