Mrs. Annie Chilton

Mrs. Annie Chilton, 91, of Benton, went to be with the Lord on Sunday April 15. She was born March 30, 1921 in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina. Annie worked for 10 years at Dale’s Donuts and was owner of DeAnns Sandwich Shop and Papalo’s Pizza from 1961 – 1972. Annie was a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Dean Chilton, mother Estelle Jones and step-father, Joseph W. Jones, father, Luther Solomon Welch, two sisters, Alice Lipsulept and Mary Elizabeth Welch and daughter, Elizabeth Francile Melton.
Annie is survived by one son, Charles Miller Jr., of North Carolina; two sisters-in- law, Betty Jones and Blondell Jones and step-daughter, Karen Pierce, several nieces and nephews. Annie is also survived by long time companion D. O. “Cotton” Sutton.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 17 at New Rosemont Cemetery by Ashby Funeral Home. Minister will be Saline Hospice Chaplain Bro. Kim Hammer.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m., Monday, April 16 at Ashby’s.
