Nolan R. James

Nolan R. James, 78, of Benton passed away Monday, Nov. 19.  He was born June 16, 1934, in Saline County.  Mr. James was a U.S. Air Force veteran and an insurance agent.
He was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church. where he served as music director and Sunday School teacher for many years. He was a Mason with the Rubicon Lodge 627. 
Mr. James was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Roy James; and two brothers, Roland James and Derrel James.
He is survived by his wife, Pat James; two sons, Michael James and Steve James and wife Levon, all of Benton; two brothers, Bert James and wife Sharon of Benton and Terry James and wife Diann of Lonsdale; two sisters-in-law, Ruby James of Benton and Margie James of Benton; four grandchildren, Brad James, David James, Megan McNair and Heather James; and two great-grandchildren, Zane and Charley McNair.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Gravel Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery. 
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Ashby Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Gravel Hill Cemetery Fund in care of Gravel Hill Baptist Church, 6259 Highway 9, Benton, AR 72019.
