Mrs. Norma Jean McPherson, 86, of Benton died Saturday, May 12. She was born Feb. 22, 1926, in Saline County.
Norma Jean was a longtime member of Kentucky Missionary Baptist Church and a talented seamstress, with every little girl in the family having beautiful dresses that she made.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl E. and Dona Bradbury Smith; her husband of 64 years,  Raymond McPherson; a brother, Jackie F. Smith; and a sister, Josephine Richmond.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Horne and husband Carl of Benton; granddaughters, Carla Batchelor and husband, Phillip , Kathy Duncan and husband Ben of Benton; six great-grandchildren, Emily Kosters, Hannah Batchelor, Mataya Duncan, Atalya Duncan, Sam Duncan, and Brody Ray Duncan, all of Benton; a sister, Melba Harris of Benton; and a brother, Kenneth Smith and wife Sandra of Portland, Texas, as well as many other wonderful family members and friends.                                
Funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, at Kentucky Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Carl Horne, Don McCutcheon, Phillip Batchelor and Donny Haynes officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Ashby Funeral Home.
