Opal Rhodes

Opal Rhodes of Benton passed away Feb. 2, 2014. She was born July 30, 1907, in Antoine, to the late Rufus Patrick Malone and Dona Ward Malone.
She enjoyed fishing and golf. She started the Longhills Ladies Golf Association in 1956.
Her most enjoyable activity was china painting. She started painting in 1960 and continued for 30 years. Her daughter and grandchildren cherish the many pieces of china they have received from her through the years.
Opal was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Rhodes; five sisters; and one brother.
She is survived by her daughter, Billie Henry of Benton; three grandchildren, Jo Ann Bowen and husband Melvin of Benton, Pat Henry and wife Betsy of Mountain Home, and Jane Willis and husband Ricky of Benton; great-grandchildren, Matt Bowen and wife Sophie, Kelley Burrow and husband Clint, Erica Erck and husband John, Katie Henry, Lauren Hundley and husband Scott, and Stacey Willis; great-great-grandchildren, Maya Burrow, Jack Erck, Ava Erck and Liv Erck.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at Ashby Funeral Home. 
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the funeral home.
