Permenter seeks position on Bryant City Council

August 24, 2012

Wade Permenter is one of two candidates vying for Position 2 in Ward 1 of the Bryant City Council in the general election Nov. 6. The other is Alan Keys.
"I recently got involved in council meetings and find it interesting to serve the public by hearing people's needs and communicating them to the council," Permenter said.
Permenter cited his values as assets he would bring to the position
"Love of God, love of family, love of community. Each of these is very important to me," Permenter wrote in a press release.
Aldermen are elected by ward, but Permenter says he looks forward to serving the entire city.
"I believe I would bring a unique perspective to the council table because I have previously been a business owner," Permenter wrote. "It's important that Bryant businesses be involved in dialogue with city leaders to ensure their needs are heard."
Permenter mentioned the Raymar Road project as an issue of concern. "I think there should be an alternate plan," he said.
Permenter's father, Ray, served on the Bryant City Council, and his mother, Carol, was active in many organizations through the years. His parents instilled in him the importance of giving back the community, Permenter said.
"I want to serve the community so I can be an example to my children in teaching them the importance of service in many ways, including serving the city of Bryant," he said.
Permenter has lived in Bryant for 50 years. He and wife Stephanie have two children: Mackenzie and Austin. They attend Indian Springs Baptist Church.
Aldermanic positions are nonpartisan.
