Robert “Bob” Gattin

Robert “Bob” Gattin, 65, of Benton passed away Jan. 10, 2012.  He was born June 23, 1946, in Des Arc.  He was an employee of Alcoa and served in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Melvin Wesley Gattin and Alva Akins Gattin; one brother and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Gattin of Benton; a brother, Donald Gattin of Benton; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Wright and husband Howard of Steele, Mo.; his birth mother, Ella Mae Thomas of  Kensett; nephews, Eric Wright of Jonesboro and Don Gattin Jr. and Paul Denton, both of Benton; a niece, Gayla Daniel; and a great-nephew, Justin Daniel of Steele, Mo.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Ashby Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Grant officiating.  Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
