Roy R. "Mutt" Strange

Roy R. "Mutt" Strange, 93, of Bauxite passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Saline Memorial Hospital. He was born to Robert “Bob” Strange and Carrie Johnson Strange on Feb. 7, 1920.
Roy retired from Alcoa after 23 years of employment . He was a member of West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.  
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Steva Lee Bullard Strange; a grandson, Greg A. Caple; a granddaughter, Cheryl R. Hawkins; a brother and two sisters.
He is survived by two daughters, Virginia Hirman and husband Milton and Barbara Wood and husband Kenneth; two sons, Hugh Strange and wife Sherry and Buddy Strange and wife Sharon; seven grandchildren; one grandson-in-law, Stewart Hawkins; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 1, at Ashby Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 31, at the funeral home.
