With the approach of spring practice for college football teams, the Saline County Razorback Club has announced that Bret Bielema, Arkansas Razorback head football coach, will be the guest speaker for the annual Saline County Razorback Club Fish Fry next month.
"We are certainly excited to welcome Coach Bielema back to Saline County for this year's fish fry," said Phillip Montalvo, president of the Saline County Razorback Club.
"Razorback football fans are excited about the upcoming season and a new recruiting class and we anticipate a great turnout at the new Benton Event Center to hear him speak," Montalvo said. "Having Coach come and address the fans of Saline County is a great honor and we look forward to everyone having a chance to come and meet and visit with Coach Bielema."
The fish fry will be held Wednesday, March 12, at the Benton Event Center. Catering will be provided by Eat My Catfish of Benton.
A silent auction of Razorback memorabilia will begin when the doors open at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program featuring Bielema.
Door prizes will be awarded throughout the program.
Tickets to the fish fry are $25 for adults, $10 for students and kids under age 5 may eat free. Tickets are available at the Benton Area Chamber of Commerce, the Bryant Area Chamber of Commerce, Yoakum and Lovell C.P.A. in Benton, and the Sport Shop in Benton, or from members of the Saline County Razorback Club board of directors.
In addition to Montalvo, other board members are Shane Broadway, Bruce Carlisle, Phil Daugherty, Bob Garrett, Gary James, Dean McCormack, Miki Morrow, Wade Partridge, Kathy Robbins, Sid Scarlett, Dr. Scott Walsh, Kelli Winters and Dan Yoakum.
