A service awards recognition ceremony will be included at the Benton City Council meeting tonight.
Slated to receive awards during the meeting are city employees Mollie Wright, Larry Lewis, Lester Griffin and Chuck Jackson.
Another award to be presented during the meeting will be the Youth of the Month honor that recognizes Bekah Davis of Benton High School for December.
The youth honor is determined by a vote of the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council.
In other matters, Mayor David Mattingly plans to introduce a proclamation related to the Benton Athletic Memorial Museum Wall of Fame Week.
Regular business of the council will include consideration of:
â€¢An ordinance amending the 2012 budget to authorize payment for communications equipment.
â€¢A resolution related to funding for drainage projects.
â€¢A resolution authorizing the execution of an agreement with Garnat Engineering and appropriating funds for work to be performed.
â€¢An ordinance amending a prior ordinance that increases certain $5 fines to $20.
â€¢A resolution authorizing the transfer of certain police equipment to the Arkansas Reclamation Office.
â€¢An ordinance approving an addendum to Benton Public Utilities agreement with Almatis.
â€¢Reports from standing council committees.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Benton Municipal Complex and will be preceded by a 6:30 p.m. agenda session in the mayor's conference room.
All sessions are open to the public.
