Sophie McNeil, 69, of Alexander passed away Sunday, July 3. She was born Feb. 9, 1942, in Benton. Mrs. McNeil was a CNA and a member of Highway 5 Church of Christ. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Chlloe Caple; husband, James McNeil; two sons, Ronald and Tony McNeil; three brothers, Roy, Coy and Norman Caple; and two sisters, Dannie Marie Evans and Dovie Sue Williams.
She is survived by her son, Darin McNeil of Mabelvale; two daughters, Loretta Alexander of Bryant and Deborah Castleberry of Mabelvale; two brothers, Tommy Caple of Mabelvale and Marvin Caple of Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Matthew McNeil, Heath Hunter, Camilya Collins, Adam Alexander, Rex McNeil, Jacqueline McNeil, Brittany McNeil and Raelynn McNeil; and five great-grandchildren, Nate, Jasmin, Maxwell and Cameron McNeil and Kyri Collins.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 7, at Ashby Funeral Home with burial to follow at Ten Mile Cemetery. Boyce Barger will be officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 6, at Ashby Funeral Home.
