Dan Jordan, director of student support services for the Benton School District, will receive special recognition tonight in a meeting of the Benton School Board.
Jordan has been named Administrator of the Year by the Arkansas School Personnel Administration. He will be recognized during the Panther Pride presentations at the start of the board meeting.
Also receiving a Panther Pride award will be Dennis Abraham, a teacher at the Benton Alternative Learning Center. Abraham is recognized for his students being among the top 20 statewide for End of Course Alternative Learning Environment in math.
Among the boardâ€™s action items is a resolution that adds a section to the districtâ€™s contract to acquire the First Security Bank facility.
The district previously approved a plan to purchase the building to convert it to a central administration staff facility.
Other action items will include a maintenance contract presented by Kevin Chastain and proposed policy changes from Mary Morgan, assistant superintendent for personnel.
The board will receive a construction update from representatives of Nabholz Construction and Foster Taggart Currence architects.
Karla Neathery, director of curriculum and instruction, plans to review Pathwise Induction Mentoring and Benchmark scores and give a Common Core curriculum update.
